New human resources management course

The Syrian Consulting Bureau for Development and Investment (SCB) launched a practical course on Human Resources Management on February 3.

The course is divided into two parts: employee relations management and staffing and training. It covers human resource (HR) policies, procedures and planning, organisational structure, HR budgets, rewards, benefits and pay plan methods. It also teaches recruitment and selection techniques, orientation, training and employee development and job and performance appraisal management.

“The objective of this course is to help companies fulfil their potentials to get the best out of them as individuals and teams,” SCB general manager Nabil Sukkar said. “SCB strives to enhance policies that help Syria’s economic liberalisation and private sector development. It also seeks to help clients make distinctive, substantial and lasting improvements in their business performance.”

The SCB was established in Damascus in 1991. SCB’s activities include economic and public policy research and corporate finance, financial advisory, market and marketing research. It also offers information systems consulting, process re-engineering, restructuring and organisational development training.
