New Syrian business website goes online A new Syrian business news website Masaader (www.masaader.com) was launched last month following a six-month testing period. The business news portal, run by Masaader Group, covers local, regional and global economic and business news in the Arabic language. It also provides real-time updates of currency exchange rates and voting polls. “Masaader.com delivers an optimal browsing experience,” website managing director Kenan Bahhady said. “The site’s professional structure, especially given that all content is archived and always accessible, differentiates masaader.com from other media channels.” Bahhady said online media was becoming an increasingly important player in Syria’s media landscape, evidenced by the remarkable growth in the number of internet users in the country. Syria has one of the highest internet uptakes in the world. “Being online is a very big challenge in the world of news,” Bahhady said. “Late news is no news and that is what distinguishes us as online media from other media channels.” |
