Neglected gardens targeted in local youth project

The Syrian Arab Red Crescent (SARC) Youth group completed a project to improve Damascus’s green spaces last month.

The project, ‘Rejuvenating Neglected Gardens Day’, was held on November 6 and saw youth group members work on neglected and overgrown gardens around the capital with the aim of transforming them into pleasant green spaces.

Increasing attention has been paid to the environment in Syria in recent years, with many of SARC’s activities focusing on the area. A statement from SARC said projects such as the gardens day aim to preserve the country’s green spaces, making cities and towns across Syria more enjoyable places to live in.
