School for gifted opens

A new school for Syria’s most talented students was opened in Homs on July 27.

Syrian President Bashar al-Assad opened The National Center for Distinguished Students which will accommodate the country’s brightest and most talented students. A unique curriculum has been developed for the school which will help students “develop their scientific research capabilities and boost the spirit of exploration and creativity in them”, Syria’s official news agency SANA reported.

The school features a student’s residence, art studios, two libraries and sporting facilities.
